New South Wales railcars at Maitland

The photo below was taken in January 1961 using a 6x6cm Lubitel (Russian) twin lens camera and 120 film.

The location is Maitland looking west on what were the slow (coal) lines.

The Railcar was owned and operated by the South Maitland Railway to service the coalfileds in this area.

The photo below was also taken in January 1961 using the same camera as above..

According to my notes the location was Beresfield, but I believe it is more likely Maitland, heading west.

Railcar #627 is on the then fast lines.

#622 of this same class is currently on display at the Tenterfield Railway station museum complex.
